Discovered - currently not indexed
A Search Console status meaning Google knows a URL exists but has chosen not to crawl and index it yet.
"Discovered - currently not indexed" is a Google Search Console coverage status. It means Google has found the URL — usually from a sitemap or a link — but has not yet crawled it, and so it is not in the index. The page is in a queue, and Google has decided not to prioritize it right now.
It often signals crawl-budget or quality concerns. Google may be holding back because the site has many similar URLs, the server is slow, or the page looks low-value based on the surrounding site. It is different from "Crawled - currently not indexed," where the page was fetched but still left out.
Practical fixes: strengthen internal links to the page, improve content depth and uniqueness, ensure fast server responses, and keep your sitemap limited to canonical, valuable URLs. Requesting indexing can help for a few important pages, but the underlying cause usually has to be addressed for the pattern to clear.
