URL Inspection Tool
A Google Search Console tool that reports the index status of a specific URL and why it is or is not indexed.
The URL Inspection tool in Google Search Console reports what Google knows about a single URL: whether it is indexed, when it was last crawled, which canonical Google chose, and any coverage issues. It is the fastest way to diagnose why a specific page is or is not in the index.
It also lets you run a live test against the current page and, if the URL qualifies, request indexing to nudge Google to recrawl. Requesting indexing does not guarantee inclusion — it just adds the URL to a crawl queue.
Use it when a page you expect to rank is missing, or when Search Console flags a URL as excluded. The status it returns — for example "Discovered - currently not indexed" or "Crawled - currently not indexed" — points you toward the actual cause, whether that is content quality, duplication, or crawl budget.
